SHADOWFAX SF30

The SF30 is a rugged, hybrid, fixed-wing, VTOL drone featuring exceptional flight duration and range, outstanding time-on-station, multiple payload capability and impressive load-carrying capacity. Its design allows for swappable payloads and significantly increased reliability due to a modular internal combustion engine propulsion unit that can be swapped out in seconds in the field. Its electric VTOL propulsion system is extremely reliable, allows fully autonomous take-off and landing, makes the uav runway and launch equipment independent, has position locking motors to reduce aerodynamic drag in flight, and greatly increases operational safety and uav preservation through fully autonomous landing capability in case of any forward propulsion unit or comms failures.

FIELD-SWAPPABLE FORWARD PROPULSION UNIT

The modular field-swappable propulsion unit includes an extremely fuel efficient and reliable four-stroke, electronic fuel injected UAV engine, and a composite fuel tank assembly. The unit includes an onboard starter-generator which provides up to 500W of clean DC power at user-selected voltages, as well as an integrated fuel level sensor which provides real-time fuel level and flow data to the operator at the ground control station. The engine can be switched off and restarted in flight, and the engine performance parameters such as temperature and RPM are available in real time on the ground control station. The entire propulsion unit can be swapped out in the field in seconds, allowing easy maintenance, greatly improving uav availability and reliability.
