An evolution from the legacy of the SF30, the all-new Group 3 SF45 and Group 2 SF25G and E unmanned aerial systems provide operators with a choice of two fixed-wing VTOL UAV platforms.
The SF45 is a fixed wing VTOL UAV with a hybrid propulsion system, an electric VTOL system and fuel-injected gasoline forward propulsion unit, with up to 10hrs of flight duration and up to 8kg payload carrying capability.
The SF25 is a smaller Group 2 fixed wing VTOL UAV.
The SF25E is an all-electric platform with a wingspan of less than 3m and a maximum weight of less than 25kg, designed specifically for the EU/UK Class 3 permissive, regulatory environment. The SF25E offers up to 3h of flight duration and up to 4kg payload capacity.
The SF25G is identical to the SF25E, but employs a fuel-injected, gasoline forward propulsion unit, which increases flight duration to 8h.
Both platforms feature patented, innovative technology, including quick-swap propulsion units that can be swapped out in the field in less than a minute. This increases the availability of the platform by a large margin, as the UAV is not taken out of service for propulsion unit maintenance. Increased availability leads to increased platform utilisation and, in turn, lower capital investment requirements for a given ISR demand. It also significantly increases reliability and maintainability of the platform.
In addition, the operability of the platform is enhanced, in that the quick-swap propulsion system on the SF25 allows for quick exchanges in the field between electric and gasoline propulsion units, offering stealth mode on demand. It also allows customers who start out with a full electric system to incorporate a long duration gasoline system in due course should their needs change, without the capital expense of a new UAV.
Our electric VTOL systems are extremely reliable, allowing fully automated take-off and landing from rough terrain. The VTOL system completely eliminates the need for runways and cumbersome launch equipment, and greatly increases operational safety and UAV preservation through a fully automated landing capability in the event of in-flight emergencies.
We are payload and communications systems agnostic and are able to supply and integrate the best components presently available, including encrypted data links, EO/IR gimbal systems, photogrammetry solutions, GPS-denied packages and a large variety of specialized sensors. Our large and accessible payload bays were designed to accommodate multi-payload installations and to facilitate payload exchanges in the field.
Our platforms are versatile and capable of application in a very wide range of applications, from security-oriented ISR in contested environments, maritime EEZ and border patrol, search-and-rescue and disaster management operations, environmental monitoring, photogrammetry and lidar applications, mineral prospecting, and forestry and agriculture applications.
Due to our patented technology, our platforms have remarkably small logistical footprints and pack into compact transport cases. The SF45 transport case fits into a SUV, whilst the SF25 transport case fits into a hatchback vehicle. This is particularly useful for shipboard stowage in maritime applications, where space is at a premium.
To support our customers, we offer thorough training in the use and operation of our platforms using our proprietary Shadowfax Twin: a digital Twin Simulator which realistically echoes the flight and mission operation characteristics of our platforms, and which allows pilots and operators to train on our platforms in a virtual environment before deploying downrange.
